About us

  Inspired by Mr. Banks’ dismissive remark "slipshod, sugary female thinking" in Mary Poppins—originally aimed at the suffragettes—our brand is born out of a shared, familiar frustration. We create for those who know the exhausting reality of never being taken seriously simply because of who they are, no matter how substantial or vital their work is. We exist for the Black women who feel forced to straighten their hair for job interviews, for those whose emotions are routinely dismissed, and for anyone whose intellect is unfairly labelled as careless or overly sentimental.
